Orpheus: Providence by Night
A bit of a loose cannon, but god damn if he isn't the best we've got.
Stu Hunkington grew up off the grid. His father, Bronson Hunkington, was a decorated veratan of the Vietnam War and raised his family in an unspecified militaristic compound that has been narrowed down to somewhere on the forests of upstate New York. It was here that Hunkington learned how to fight, shoot and survive under the close tutelage of his father Bronson. Like most off the grid militia types Bronson Hunkington earned what money he needed doing mercenary work for many fringe groups and even for the federal government when there was some domestic wet work that needed to be done that couldn’t have NSA fingerprints on it. When he was just 15 years old Stu began working with his father as a mercenary, honing his skills and picking up valuable contacts along the way. When he was 18 Hunkington joined the US Army Special Forces, serving 3 tours in Iraq as well as being part of numerous black ops missions around the globe before a dishonorable discharge. The documents have been severely redacted but it is clear that there was an altercation between a group of marines and a smaller group of Iraqi women and Hunkington interceded, inflicting severe injuries to the marines and some of his fellow rangers, including his ranking officer, before he was subdued. Since his discharge Hunkington had resumed his mercenary work all along the Eastern seaboard until his recruitment by Orpheus. He never stays in one place long, but this work seems to suit him for the time being.
